Skills We Teach
Need-Driven Innovation Process
LET’S TRY AN EXERCISE
Think about innovation in your mind’s-eye. Do you picture lightbulbs, sudden insights, or luck? In our experience, many innovators begin their journey thinking this is how it works. We apply the Stanford Biodesign Innovation process to turn the “art” of innovation into a skill that can be developed with practice.
We’ve coached medtech innovators at all different career-stages, from undergraduates to clinical faculty. Our mentees have had varied backgrounds in engineering, medicine, and science. The common thread has been that by combining the spark of creativity, a driven team, and the structured Stanford Biodesign Innovation process the lightning-bolt of innovation repeatedly strikes.
Medtech Entrepreneurship
ACADEMIC TO INDUSTRY TRANSLATION
We believe that collaboration between academia and industry is foundational to driving innovation in the medical technology field. Training in healthcare entrepreneurship can ignite a passion for clinical translation. We can help coach entrepreneurs or partner with institutions to facilitate the translation of innovation into entrepreneurial ventures.
Guest Lectures
BRINGING CLINICAL ENGINEERING TO THE CLASSROOM
Outside speakers can offer unique perspectives on classroom material and can help students synthesize concepts, develop practical skills, and make career connections. We have delivered guest lectures on Project Management, Bioengineering Capstone Design, and Biomedical Entrepreneurship. We enjoy supporting students and can join for topic lectures or help design innovation curriculum.
